Resource Recovery

Renewable Resource Recovery is a term that has been gaining traction in the Wastewater and Solid Waste Management industries. Resource Recovery applies a process which makes use of what would otherwise be disposed of as waste into valuable products, such as energy and raw materials.

A Sustainable Utility for a Brighter Future

Our long term vision is a zero-landfill utility network, recycling all of our organic waste streams to tap into our systems’ potential energy and nutrients. We see our biosolids as a resource, rather than a waste byproduct to be disposed of.

Waterfield Utilities is leading the way in sustainable utility and wastewater operations by implementing a regional Resource Recovery Facility to process wastewater sludge from our treatment plants, along with food waste and other organic waste streams. Using Anaerobic Digestion technology, these waste streams will be recycled into renewable natural gas and value-added biosolids for use in the agriculture and horticulture industries, redirecting what would otherwise be disposed of in landfills.

This synergism allows us to optimize our resources, adding value to what would otherwise be a cost while holding the environment in the highest regard.
